Deputy Commander

Brigadier General Holger Radmann

After Brigadier General Radmann joined the German Air Force in 1989 he earned his commission upon graduating
from the German Air Force Academy and graduated from Undergraduate Flying Training at Randolph Air Force
Base, Texas, USA. 

During his career, Brigadier General Radmann, served in various command assignments and functions within the Federal Ministry of Defence and within the Headquarters of the German Air Force in Cologne and Berlin, Germany. He served as a fighter weapons instructor, weapons and tactics officer, operations officer, squadron commander and flying group commander at the Fighter Wing 71 “Richthofen” at Wittmund Air Base and as the commander of the Tactical Air Wing 33 at Büchel Air Base, Germany. Furthermore, Brigadier General Radmann is a graduate of the UK Higher Command and Staff Course.

In his flying career and as a Staff Officer, Brigadier General Radmann participated in numerous national and multinational exercises and operational deployments. His operational experience includes a tour at the ISAF (2008) as Head of the Joint Operations Center, Regional Command North, Mazar-e-Sharif. He was deployed as contingent commander Baltic Air Policing to Siauliai (2012) and as commander of German contingent Counter DAESH in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (2016).

As an aviator he accumulated over 2.000 flight hours on military and civilian airplanes

2002 – 2004 Operations Officer Fighter Wing 71 “Richthofen” at Wittmund Air Base, Germany
2004 – 2006 1st Joint National General/Admiral Staff Officer Course at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg, Germany
2006 – 2008 Commander of the 2nd Fighter Squadron (712) at Wittmund Air Base, Germany
2008 – 2009 Branch Chief A3 a/b (Training and Operation) at the 4th Air Division in Aurich, Germany
2009 – 2011 Assistant Branch Chief at Air Staff III 3 at the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin, Germany
2012 – 2013 Commander of the Flying Group Fighter Wing 71 “Richthofen” at Wittmund Air Base, Germany
2013– 2015 Liaison Officer for the Chief of the Joint Support Service in Berlin, Germany
