Warrant Officer Victoria Hindson

Warrant Officer Victoria Hindson, Royal Air Force (RAF) is currently Command Senior Enlisted Advisor to the US 4* Commander of NATO’s Headquarters Allied Air Command at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

She was born on 29th April 1981 in Gateshead, United Kingdom. She completed her secondary education at Usworth School before joining the RAF as an Aerospace Systems Operator (ASOp) in February 2003. Over her career she has served in a variety of roles spanning Integrated Air and Missile Defence and Tactical Air C2 both in the UK and Overseas. Notable deployments over her career, include 303 Signals Unit (303SU) in the Falkland Islands as a Quick Reaction Alert Controller and Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan embedded in the US Marine Corps Air Control Squadron. She is a qualified Weapons Controller instructor and completed the UK Air Ops Planning Course in preparation for her assignment to AIRCOM.

After completing Phase 1 and Phase 2 training as an ASOp she was posted to the Control and Reporting Centre (CRC) at RAF Neatishead. CRC Operations moved to RAF Boulmer in 2004 where she became an ASOp instructor before deploying to the CRC and Remote Radar Head Mount Alice in the Falkland Islands.

In June 2008, she was promoted to Corporal and returned to the CRC at Boulmer to train JNCOs in operations executive roles. During this assignment she was selected for promotion to Sergeant and completed the Weapons Controller course, which resulted in a posting to No.1 Air Control Centre (1ACC) at RAF Scampton. Her time at 1ACC included deployments to Afghanistan with the USMC and 303 SU in the Falkland Islands as Tactical Air C2 practitioner.

In February 2012 she returned to RAF Boulmer, this time at the School of Aerospace Battle Management where she instructed on the Weapons Controller course. During this time she also qualified as a Weapons Control Supervisor in the CRC. She was promoted to Flight Sergeant in Aug 2015 and moved to Headquarters No.2 Group in February 2017 to join the Air Safety Assurance team as the Air Traffic Management SME.

During her time at No.2 Group she graduated from Buckinghamshire New University with a BA (Hons) in Organisational Capability Development, her dissertation focussing on the impact that wind farm proliferation had on the UK Low Flying System. She was selected for promotion to Warrant Officer in 2020 and accepted the role of Exercise Planner at the National Air and Space Operations Centre (NASOC). This role was the lead for planning and developing National, NATO and Bi-Lateral exercises for Air Counter Terrorism, Air Security and Air Policing missions. Utilising her previous experience in Air Safety she drafted the NASOC Total Safety Management Plan and fulfilled the role of Total Safety Manager for the unit. She Joined HQ Allied AIRCOM in August 2023.

She has a home in Northumberland and is married to Kevin, an Air Operations Controller who is also serving at AIRCOM. They have a daughter Penny who is 10. Interests include running, spending time with her family and skiing, where she has represented the Royal Air Force at the Inter-Service Championships on several occasions.
