NATO staff at Torrejón, Spain commemorates NATO’s 70th anniversary

Commemorating NATO’s 70th anniversary, the women and men from NATO’s Combined Air Operations Center at Torrejón , Spain, participated in a 70 km relay run December 4. Despite a temperature of 1 degree Celsius on a windy morning, the entire staff of the unit was outside to cheer for the participating runners.

Deputy Commander General Dimopoulos opened with an address to runners and spectators: “One run, one team, 7 hours, 70 km, let’s celebrate our commitment to the 70th anniversary of NATO! This event symbolises the enduring commitment to one another, giving us the strength to overcome our differences and rise to any challenge. Standing with unity and resolve in defence of our values, NATO will remain a pillar of stability in an uncertain world for the next generation.”
