Flag of North Macedonia raised at Headquarters Allied Air Command

RAMSTEIN, Germany - On the 30th March 2020 at Ramstein, Germany, Commander Allied Air Command General Jeffrey L. Harrigian, accompanied by Command Senior Enlisted Leader Warrant Officer Sara Catterall, led a Flag Raising Ceremony to welcome NATO’s newest member North Macedonia.

Similar ceremonies took place throughout the Alliance marking the Alliance’s 30th new member. North Macedonia remains a long-standing contributor to Euro-Atlantic security, participating in NATO-led missions both in Afghanistan and in Kosovo.

General Harrigian states: “We at Allied Air Command were honoured to raise the flag of North Macedonia celebrating their accession as NATO’s newest Alliance member. "Maintaining our readiness and ensuring a strong and credible deterrence through collective defence is paramount and North Macedonia’s contribution is a welcome addition.  We face many challenges, but NATO’s strength lies in the cohesion of our now 30 aligned nations.  I am very proud how we are working together to maintain and sustain our operational posture to deliver effective Air Power for the Alliance, especially in these most trying of times.”
