MULTINATIONAL TRAINING DELIVERS AIR OPERATIONS EXPERTS

RAMSTEIN, Germany - More than 30 students from several NATO Nations attended the third iteration of the Initial Functional JFAC Training (IFJT) course April 25 - May 6, 2022 at Poggio Renatico, Italy, home of the Deployable Air Command and Control Centre (DACCC).

Given the complexity of the situation we live, NATO Air personnel must be trained and ready to operate in order to enhance collaborative planning activities and sustainment of Allied Air Commands operational effort

The aim of the course is to educate the military personnel assigned to NATO Air Components on all matters pertaining to the Air Power employment. This prepares personnel for worldwide operational deployment and creates specialized experts to augment Allied Air Command in Ramstein.

"Effective Air Command and Control (AirC2), our core-business, is critical in operations", Major General Traas said. "Given the complexity of the situation we live, NATO Air personnel must be trained and ready to operate in order to enhance collaborative planning activities and sustainment of Allied Air Commands operational effort", he added.

The ability to rapidly deploy experts and equipment to control Alliance air operations is essential for the deterrence and defense across the Euro-Atlantic area.

With a combination of active and passive radars alongside Ground-Air-Ground modules, the DACCC provides a unique deployable capability, enhancing the Recognised Air Picture of NATO and increasing the defence posture of the Alliance.
