DACCC plays an important role in training NATO Forces

RAMSTEIN, Germany - The Deployable Command Control Centre (DACCC) of Poggio Renatico has faced a challenging beginning to September. The organization has stayed busy in the Initial Functional JFAC Course (IFJT) and the ICC Integrated Training Capability (ITC) Course.

The security situation in Europe has permanently changed, since a strategic competitor has become a strategic opponent,

The first two-week course of IFJT began on 29 August with the participation of 31 students from various NATO Commands as a mandatory step for their subsequent employment within the NATO Command Structure (NCS) JFAC structures. The course is designed to give NATO and Partners military personnel knowledge of the processes and procedures that take place within the structures of an Air Component Command (JFAC) in the development of planning the use of Air Power. It is carried out monthly for a total of eight times a year.

"The security situation in Europe has permanently changed, since a strategic competitor has become a strategic opponent," said General Denny Traas DACCC Commander. "The DACCC must therefore pursue two lines of action, training and preparing NATO personnel to be able to play their role within the Command and Control structures of the Air Component and at the same time be ready to be deployed where the Atlantic Alliance believes our presence is necessary,” he added.

The ITC Course is one of the main courses offered by the DACCC to certify students to perform their positions in any of the AirC2 Computer Assisted Exercises in a simulated environment.

The numerous courses held during the year by the DACCC are an opportunity to remember how this NATO Command in Italy is the only one able to deploy at a short notice carrying out capabilities and responsibilities typical of an Air Component Command. Moreover, thanks to its active and passive radars, it represents only one example of the military inventory of the Alliance. Additionally, the DACCC has received the mandate for direct liaising between Commands for Air Support Operations Center development. The latter is the primary air component command and control for the 24/7 execution of joint air power in direct support of joint force land component operations.
