RAMSTEIN, Germany – Türkiye hosted its live-fly exercise ANATOLIAN PHOENIX out of 3rd Main Jet Base, Konya from May 12 to 23, 2025. Providing the multinational participants with realistic combat training opportunities in a complex high-threat operating environment.
The exercise series offers participating nations unique training, units from Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the United States participated in Anatolian Pheonix 25. Working collaboratively on Joint or Combined Operations, including close air support, dynamic targeting and time-sensitive targeting missions.
Anatolian Phoenix focused on combat search and rescue operations. Fighter aircraft, helicopters and search and rescue teams practiced joint personnel rescue procedures, tested in the high-intensity environment. The exercise scenarios aimed to test and enhance command-and-control processes, and to improve integration and interoperability among participating nations and units.
Türkiye has been executing the Anatolian Phoenix Exercise series since 2009, while this year’s iteration has highlighted new technological systems integrated into the Turkish Air Force’s advanced capabilities and operations.
Exercises such as Anatolian Phoenix contributes to the overall readiness and resilience of NATO and demonstrates the importance of interoperability between Allies by testing and promoting common tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Frequent training events with multinational participation, both on the ground and in the air, are a key enabler for NATO showcasing combined efforts and the shared goals of the Alliance.
