What is AirC2

In general, Command and Control (C2) is the exercise of authority and direction by a properly designated commander over assigned and attached forces in the accomplishment of the mission. For that, C2 uses control circuits, that allow for a recurring planning, decision making, execution and assessment process. The most prominent model is the OODA loop (observe, orient, decide, act), which is a decision-making model that applies the concept to the combat operations process, often at the operational level during military campaigns.

In the air domain the OODA loop is reflected in the AirC2 cycle, which connects the phases of this recurring planning, decision making, execution and assessment process with products and organisational elements.

Each step should be supported by proper IT-solutions, where possible with RP or AI driven applications and intensive use of data science tools and applications. In a DevSecOps (development, security, operation) understanding, such applications should be small and focused, but adjustable in a swift and agile way through close coordination between operators and coders. All applications should build on a, if possible, cloud based, structured, accessible, quality data, standardised data formats and APIs (application programming interface).
